This building of the seventeenth century, with a Renaissance facade and roof, both Historical Monuments, was originally a church, then a food store and finally a hostel before becoming a theater in 1904.

After a fire in 2009, a project for its renovation was launched. After the competition process, our team was selected.

As part of the project, the chapel's apse wall was drilled to install a balcony at the rear , reversing its initial configuration. The stage is now installed at the foot of the door of the chapel.

The main acoustic treatments are follows :

  • Overhead acoustic reflectors at the proscenium zone were installed to improve sound projection between the stage and the audience chamber ;
  • The stage and audience chambers side and back walls received an "evolving" sound reflective, scattering and absorbing treatment. Highly diffusive on the stage and at the throat zone, more absorbing towards the back of the audience chamber .
